Taking The First Step

About Jocelyn

Before transitioning into social work, I spent several years as a teacher, where I was able to a deep understanding of how to support individuals through challenges and nurture personal growth. I have also taught at Shade Tree Academy working with children impacted by foster care. This foundation has continued to shape my work as a therapist, where I specialize in helping clients navigate childhood trauma, grief, attachment wounds, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and complex family dynamics.

“Where there is love, there is life.”

At the heart of my practice is a strengths-based approach. I am committed to helping clients recognize and harness their inherent strengths as a pathway to healing and growth. By fostering self-compassion and creating a safe, supportive environment, I empower clients to build resilience, embrace their personal strengths, and move forward with confidence.

I integrate a range of evidence-based modalities, including play therapy, sand tray therapy, DBT, CBT, mindfulness, and art therapy, to tailor my work to each client’s unique needs and support lasting, meaningful change.

My belief in the transformative power of self-love and kindness fuels my work, as I help clients build lasting emotional well-being and unlock their potential.

Outside of my professional life, I enjoy physical fitness classes, finding
strength and energy in body-combat classes, and enjoy hiking and spending
time with friends. Most importantly, I enjoy being a mother of five, and enjoy
quality time with my husband and family, believing that connection and self-
care are key to a fulfilled life.
