Attachment Trauma

Adjustment Disorders In Children Deserts Bloom Therapy

What Is Attachment Trauma Therapy for Children?

Early relationships play a powerful role in shaping how children see themselves, others, and the world around them. When those early bonds are disrupted through experiences like neglect, inconsistent caregiving, loss, or trauma children can develop what is known as attachment trauma. This can affect their sense of safety, trust, and connection with others.

In my work, I provide a safe, consistent, and nurturing space where children can
begin to heal from these earl wounds. Together, we focus on building trust,
strengthening emotional connections, and helping your child develop a more
secure sense of self and relationships.
Attachment trauma therapy offers children a supportive environment where they
can gently process their experiences, form healthy attachments, and begin to feel
safe in relationships again.

How Attachment Trauma Therapy Helps

Through our work together, I support Children in:

  • Building Trust and Safety: Helping children feel secure in relationships and
develop a sense of emotional safety.
  • Understanding and Expressing Emotions: Supporting children in identifying and
    communicating their feelings.
  • Developing Healthy Relationships: Teaching skills for connection, empathy, and
    appropriate boundaries.
  • Regulating Emotions and Behaviors: Helping children manage big feelings,
    reduce anxiety, and improve self-control.
  • Strengthening Self-Worth: Encouraging confidence and a more positive self-
    image.
  • Supporting Caregiver Relationships: Guiding parents in creating consistent,
attuned, and supportive connections at home.

My Approach to Attachment Therapy

I take a gentle, relationship-based approach tailored to your child’s unique needs.
This may include:

  • Play-Based: Allowing children to express themselves in ways that feel natural and
    safe.
  • Attachment-Focused Interventions: Strengthening the bond between child and
caregiver through guided connection and trust-building.
  • Emotional Regulation Support: Teaching grounding and calming strategies to help
    children feel more in control.
  • Caregiver Involvement: Working closely with parents to provide tools, insight,
and support for nurturing secure attachment.

My goal is to create a space where children feel seen, valued, and safe enough to
heal.
